CAN Community Health acquires Mail-Meds Clinical Pharmacy and Tampa Family Pharmacy | Business Observer

SARASOTA – CAN Community Health, one of the state’s largest nonprofit organizations dedicated to the care and treatment of people living with HIV / AIDS, acquired majority stake in Mail-Meds Clinical Pharmacy in Fort Myers and Tampa Family Pharmacy.

Terms of the deals, which Sarasota-based law firm Williams Parker helped, were not disclosed.

“The addition of Mail-Meds and Tampa Family Pharmacy will leverage our unique integrated business model allowing CAN to integrate pharmacy services with healthcare services while providing convenience to customers,” said the president. and CEO of CAN Community Health Richard Carlisle in a statement. “This addition will only advance CAN’s mission.”

CAN will continue to provide patients with a pharmacy care program that includes patient education, refill reminders, and state-release adherence tools. Customers will have access to their prescriptions through new pharmacies.

CAN Community Health, based in Sarasota, is dedicated to the treatment, care and well-being of people living with HIV / AIDS, hepatitis C and other STDs. It operates 34 clinics in the United States and has an operating budget of $ 157 million.
