A fire broke out in the children’s hospital pharmacy warehouse on Saturday.
According to the details, the fire started on the third floor of the building and 7 emergency cars are on sight to put out the fire at full strength. While the rescue team said investigations will be carried out to see if someone lit the drug store on purpose.
A stockpile of drugs worth millions turned to ashes on the third floor. As firefighters attempt to clear the burning from one side of the building.
After eliminating the fire, the police will collect clues for forensics. All departments will be included in the survey including MS, DMS and Security Officers.
Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz has ordered the Health Secretary to submit a report on the incident after a detailed investigation, while urging authorities to find the culprits behind the incident.
After 3 hours of rescue operation, firefighters are still trying to put out the fire. While the operations scheduled at the hospital for today have been canceled.
Rescue 1122 uses the help of a crane to eliminate the fire. However, no loss of life was reported.
Sources say the OPD has also been closed due to the fire while patients and their families are stuck outside the emergency department.
