Gunnedah’s doctors, surgery, pharmacy and hospital staff all enjoyed a delicious treat as a thank you from the local PRAMS community group. PRAMS members on Monday delivered the care packages, made up of slices prepared by The Verdict Cafe, to the two doctors’ offices, two pharmacies and the Gunnedah hospital to thank staff for all their hard work as the pandemic of COVID-19 continues. The group also shouted at hospital staff and doctors at the cafe throughout the week, purchased from Jack and Jill’s Cafe, Bitter Suite Cafe and Wine Bar, Chatterchinos and Kez’s Cafe. Also read: PRAMS President Amber Donoghue said it was a great opportunity to support both the healthcare industry and the hospital industry in these difficult times. “After hearing about the negative experiences some of our healthcare workers are having, not necessarily in Gunnedah but nationally, it was important to recognize that they remain on the front lines and put themselves at risk to maintain health. of all, ”she said. said Donoghue. “It was also an opportunity to support some of our local cafes. Obviously our hospitality industry was hit very hard, so we approached The Verdict to make the slices… and used the remaining four cafes that are open for [the coffee] So we thought it was the best way to share the opportunity for all the cafes. The group made sure to follow social distancing rules when delivering packages, and even contacted Hunter New England Health to make sure it was possible to deliver to the hospital. “A small gesture can brighten up someone’s day and I encourage everyone to seek out these opportunities when we can,” she said.
