The Bristol Press – Community is at the Heart of Plainville Community Pharmacy
The Plainville Community Pharmacy may be a small local business, but the amount of services it provides is greater than any large business.
Located at 170 East St., Plainville Community Pharmacy has been part of the community since 2017. It is owned and operated by Berlin resident Suruchi Patel. She holds a degree in pharmaceutical sciences and over 14 years of experience as a pharmacist.
“Plainville Community Pharmacy is a true family pharmacy,” their website says. “Some things cannot be delivered efficiently through big box stores or mail order operations. Medicines are probably the best example.
The Plainville Community Pharmacy offers a wide variety of services to help its customers with all of their medication-related needs. They offer vaccinations including Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson covid-19 vaccines. The pharmacy offers free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol levels. They offer medication therapy management, a program to help clients manage their medications and health issues, and help with medication adherence.
Pharmacy Medication Sync allows customers to sync medication refills so they can pick up all of their medications in one day each month. Customers can refill their prescriptions with a free PocketRx mobile app, and they can get them in multi-dose packs that group medications by date and time so customers don’t have to sort them manually.
The Plainville Community Pharmacy also offers free delivery of prescriptions. Their delivery area includes Plainville, Southington, Berlin, Bristol, Farmington and New Britain.
Plainville Community Pharmacy has always been committed to helping the surrounding community in any way possible. Prior to the pandemic, the pharmacy offered a Saturday morning “Coffee & Conversation” event at the pharmacy with a breakfast buffet. Patel also gave an informative presentation on heart disease, hypertension, stroke factors and hypoglycemia to AARP members at a local rally recently.
“The purpose and dream of Plainville Community Pharmacy was to develop a personal relationship with the community unlike any other pharmacy experience,” Patel said of the event. “As the Plainville Community Pharmacy continues to grow, so does the trust placed in us by the community. We are both grateful and humbled.
