The Bristol Press – Plainville Community Pharmacy says it’s important to be up to date on vaccines
PLAINVILLE – The Plainville Community Pharmacy continues to serve its patients by providing them with their necessary prescriptions and administering vaccines. Currently, the pharmacy is focusing on how additional vaccines can help fight COVID.
“A collaboration between the Cleveland Clinic and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston found evidence to suggest that two common immunizations boost the ability of the COVID-19 vaccine to protect against severe COVID-19. Common vaccines, such as those for shingles and measles, can protect against severe COVID-19, recent studies show,” said Lynn DeJoseph. “Previous research has suggested that certain vaccines – including TB and influenza vaccines – may work not only against the specific diseases for which they were designed, but also against unrelated diseases.”
The pharmacy offers free prescription delivery, diabetes supplies and management, consultation, medication synchronization, as well as flu shots, vaccinations, and opioid overdose help. Currently, the pharmacy is not administering COVID tests, but those interested in receiving a vaccine should call the pharmacy at 860-222-9422.
