Two community pharmacy sites now offer Covid vaccinations in St Helens
Residents of ST HELENS can now book their Covid-19 vaccination at one of the borough’s two community pharmacy sites.
Taylors Pharmacy (which is part of Hollowood Chemists) in Haydock and Allied Pharmacies in Bold have both joined the NHS Covid-19 vaccination program with community pharmacists now vaccinating patients.
This gives people other options for where to make their vaccine appointment, as the NHS is working to vaccinate all people in the first four priority groups by mid-February.
Eligible St Helens residents who receive a letter from the NHS urging them to book their vaccination online or by phone can choose from a range of options across the region, including the mass vaccination site at Saints or a pharmacy and general practitioner offices also invite people to their vaccination clinics run by general practitioners who continue to vaccinate around 1,000 people every day.
The NHS is currently vaccinating people in priority group 4, namely those over 70 and those who are clinically extremely vulnerable, while continuing to vaccinate health and primary care workers.
Patients who frequent the Allied Pharmacies site today for their vaccine have praised the implementation:
Ann Kelly said: “It was absolutely perfect – no complaints. I booked it online and the pharmacy was the closest site to me. They were very friendly and made you feel relaxed so you won’t be afraid of anything. And very informative as well, so I didn’t leave with questions. I would 100% recommend it. ”
Stephen Gaskell added: “It was a great experience. Everything was simple, quick and straightforward – no problem. Getting the vaccine is worth it.”
When contacted, be sure to make an appointment – the vaccine will give you the best protection against the coronavirus.
